Sometimes, an issue may arise where other applications take control and mute the current app on the iPad. You can try the following steps to overcome the problem:
- Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and remove any other iPad apps that are currently running to prevent them from taking control of the sound.
- To reveal the iPad's control centre (the one you'd also use to enable flight mode), swipe downwards from the top right-hand corner.
- Find the mute button, which is shaped like a bell and has a line through it; this symbolizes that the app is currently muted.
- Tap on the bell-shaped mute icon, and the sound will be restored to the program:

- Navigate to Settings -> Control Centre
- Look under 'More Controls" and find the "Silent Mode" bell icon, then press the "+" next to it:
