Do you need headphones to use ReadingDoctor?

Modified on Thu, 20 Aug at 9:32 PM

No, headphones are not required to use ReadingDoctor®, but they may be beneficial. ReadingDoctor® works with normal device speakers, but headphones are often helpful because they make speech sounds clearer and reduce background noise.

Headphones are recommended in classrooms or shared spaces, however, because noisy environments make the auditory discrimination aspects of the program difficult for students, especially if multiple students are using the app.

If audio is hard to hear, please check device volume, mute/silent settings, and Bluetooth audio connections. If you are having difficulty with audio on the iPad, please see THIS article.
