Here is a short IT checklist your school team can use to deploy ReadingDoctor® Online.
1) Network allowlist (required)
- Allow HTTPS access to *.readingdoctor.com.
- At minimum, confirm these load without filtering/SSL inspection issues:
https://login.readingdoctor.com
https://dashboard.readingdoctor.com
https://games.readingdoctor.com - If your firewall/content filter uses SSL inspection, add exceptions for these domains if login or activity loading is delayed/failing.
2) iPad deployment checks (MDM + VPP)
- Deploy the ReadingDoctor® Online iPad app via Apple VPP/MDM as a managed app.
- Use device-based assignment (preferred), not user-based assignment.
- Confirm VPP token is active/synced and licences are available.
- Enable automatic app install on supervised devices.
- If test devices previously installed the app manually, remove that copy, then reinstall via MDM managed deployment.
- No individual student Apple ID purchase is required for school trial/subscription access.
3) First-login test steps (quick validation)
- On one test iPad, open the app and log in with a known student username/password.
- Confirm student activities open and audio plays clearly.
- On a desktop/laptop, open https://dashboard.readingdoctor.com and log in with admin/teacher details.
- Confirm class/student records are visible in Dashboard.
- Run one activity for 2 to 3 minutes, ensuring it has been completed, then recheck Dashboard/reporting to confirm usage data appears.
4) If something fails
- Capture screenshots of the exact error prompt.
- Record device model, iPadOS version, MDM platform, time of test, and affected username.
- Retest the same login on an alternate network (for example hotspot) to quickly isolate filtering/firewall issues.
